This phenomenon in painting, which is not only characteristic for the order of the Capuchins, but also of other ecclesiastical orders, has never been more comprehensive. The Capuchin brother Paolo Piazza came to the Czech lands with first capuchin brothers; in his paintings he is inspired of the Venetian school of the 16th century. Paolo Piazza worked in the capuchin monasteries in Prague and Brno during the reign of Rudolph II, for the emperor himself he created several artworks. Sulíková, Daniela ; Jarošová, Markéta (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (referee)
The thesis Mannerist Tapestries in the Czech Republic is focusing on the topic of mannerist tapestries in the Czech Republic. So far this subject remains, in both czech and foreign professional literature, without any greater attention and if the topic is mentioned, the expressions "late renaissance", "mannerism" and "early baroque" are very often mixed. For this reason, it is necessary to define "mannerist tapestry", based on formal analysis, comparison and focusing on cultural-historical background. After this theoretical part, it will be possible to place certain tapestries to this very short art period or vice versa to exclude them. The main part is focused on mannerist tapestries from the castles, museums, ect. of the Czech Republic and their inclusion in the European context. Mafková, Jana ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Oulíková, Petra (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the Italian Chapel of the Assumption of Our Lady at Karlova street in Prague's Old Town. The prime focus is on the architecture of this object. The unique building stands thanks to group of Italian artists-craftmens, who were coming to Prague at the end of 16th century. The Italian Chapel is an example of progressive and dynamic manneristic Italian architecture, which has no analoques in the local enviroment. Apart from that, I am also trying to discover the identity of architect, which is not substantiated by the sources until these days and a possible impact on sacral architecture development of the upcoming century.

Nováková, Tatiana ; Jarošová, Markéta (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (referee)
The Bachelor thesis called The influence of the ancient art on Renaissance sculptors in the 2nd half of 15th - 1st half of 16th century focuses on the comparison of ancient works with renaissance works in that period. It aims to compare possible themes and ideas of ancient figures that sculptors at that time could use as patterns for their work. Central attention will be given to these sculptors: Donatello, Tullio Lombardo, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Pierino da Vinci and Benvenuto Cellini. In my work, we also look at mythological scenes from a viewpoint of confrontation with the statue. The next aim is the introduction into historical and political context, that had a significant impact on the evolution of the art scene.

Antonio Campi (1523-1587). Between Mannerism and Baroque.
Hlušičková, Pavla ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee) ; Přibyl, Petr (referee)
The dissertation evaluated the formal, stylistic and contextual analysis of the painting oeuvre of the Cremonese native Antonio Campi. Monographic elaboration of Campi's oeuvre complement to the existing range of syntheses a number of information that has been in the literature so far omitted. The work assessed Antonio's oeuvre on the revision of archival material preserved in Milanese and Cremonese state and church archives, as well as by the means of thorough study of the secondary literature. Chronology of Campi's production was based on the stylistic and formal analysis and at the same time it has been enriched by a number of comparisons of the Lombardy-Ligurian region. Perspective at Antonio's oeuvre was accompanied by drawings and panel paintings that have emerged in the art market in recent years. With this thorough analysis, it became clear that the simple definition of an older Italian scientific literature that had Antonio Campi understood as a painter, who by his work formed the basis of Caravaggio chiaroscuro approach in the last decades of the 16th century and in the early years of the 17th age, proved to be inaccurate. It became clear that with this view we can not identify ourselves any more. Constant changes in mood, surprise, unpredictability, restlessness and individuality, the...
Mythological themes in paintings of Joseph Heintz the Elder
Tomková, Adéla ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Zapletalová, Jana (referee)
Mythological Themes in the Work of Joseph Heintz the Elder. This Bachelor's Thesis is primarily focused on the analysis of nine mythological paintings made by Joseph Heintz the Elder, one of the most prominent court painters to the Emperor Rudolf II. Whilst the introduction describes the cultural scene and the economic situation of the 2nd part of the 16th century, the main focus of attention is on the art in the Emperor's Court, followed by the painter's biography: in its framework his development as an artist as well as his works in the field of architecture are observed. The main topic of this thesis is the analysis of singular works. The emphasis is put on the literary works on which the paintings are based on: Ovid's Metamorphoses and Apuleius novel The Golden Asse. Firstly the is described, followed by an overview of the basic information (origin and dates) and a formal analysis highlighting the differences between the visual adaptation and the literary input. Finally, attention focuses on the alegorical sense of the myths which is often not clear at first sight. In order to explain this, the commentary of the Italian version of Ovid's Metamorphoses written by Giuseppe Orologgi was used.
